The Global Gaming Awards, presented by Gambling Insider, is one of the biggest gaming industry events. This year, the winners include industry leaders like NYX Gaming, Scientific Games and IGT Interactive. Winners were announced at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) held in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s no surprise that so many US operators also scooped up some prizes.
For the 4th Annual Global Gaming Awards, a panel of sixty industry experts voted for their choice. Additionally. the nominees were selected by a separate panel of 11 other industry judges. This shortlist was given to the panel 60 for consideration. The finalists attended a lunch ceremony at The Venetian in Las Vegas on 2 October. So, let’s get into the 12 categories and who won.
Global Gaming Awards – Land-Based Casinos
Firstly, the land-based casino winners received their prizes. At the moment, there are six categories for these casinos. Several of the biggest names in Las Vegas received nominations in the shortlist. The winners for 2017 are:
- Land-Based Operator – Wynn Resorts
- Land-Based Gaming Innovation – IGT Interactive for Sphinx 4D Game
- Customer Loyalty Program – MGM Resorts’ M Life Rewards
- Land-Based Industry Supplier – Scientific Games
- Land-Based Product – IGT Interactive for Cardless Connect
- Responsible Business – Sportradar
Global Gaming Awards – Digital Casinos
Similarly, other categories were for online gambling operators, with one exception. ‘European Executive of the Year’ is an award specifically for other industries. Consequently, the award is given to the executive who has been ‘expertly guiding their respective companies and organisations’. In 2017, Mor Weizer of Playtech took home the award for his contributions to gaming. Lastly, the online gambling category winners are:
- Digital Product of 2017 – Evolution Gaming for Dream Catcher
- Digital Operator – Bet365
- Acquisition Program (Digital) – LeoVegas Affiliates
- Digital Gaming Innovation – BetGenius for eSports Trading
- Digital Industry Supplier – NYX Gaming Group
